It’s snowing! Winter is here!

9 Dec

Not really. Well, in places other than San Jose, CA it is. But it is snowing on my blog! I don’t know about you..but I have been freezing my tush off these last two weeks. With colder weather comes a lot of health and beauty issues that need to be addressed!

Skin-As the weather becomes more severe and A LOT does skin and hair. To keep your skin from flaking try one of my favorite lotions and chapsticks:

Gold Bond Ultimate Lotion-All variations on this lotion are FANTASTIC! It is a little on the pricey side, however it last along time due to its texture. It has a thick creamy texture which eliminates using pumps and pumps of the more watery lotions. Try it..and you will never use anything else!

Nivea Chapstick-I don’t know if its the glorious packaging or how soft it makes my lips..but I love this stuff! I prefer it over any chapstick, lipgloss and lipstick. It tops them all! They come with SPF as well, which is something that you should always use on your lips in rain or shine and especially cold, windy weather!

One of the biggest myths that people associate summer with is that it dries out your hair more than any other seasons. This is wrong! In the summer your hair works overtime. It continues to perspire through your sebaceous glands and keeps the hair moisturized. In the winter, you are constantly changing from a cold damp environment to a heated environment. This is what strips your hair of its moisture and can be very damaging.

To eliminate this from happening you can use a leave-in conditioner or anti-frizz serum that will act as seal between the heat and cold.

I recommend using this leave-in conditioner:

The great part about this product is it is a reasonable price for a large bottle. It has a lighter feeling than most leave in conditioners. It’s texture is not heavy, and is almost watery. The plus about this is it does not leave the waxy, gunky feeling at the roots that makes your hair feel dirty/greasy. This particular leave-in conditioner can also be used more regularly than most because of its texture. An added bonus, since this leave-in conditioner is so thin you can put it into a spray bottle and spray your hair with it when you get out of the shower. Although, be warned that you should not use leave-in conditioner every single day unless you hair is severely damaged. The recommended use for leave-in conditioner is 1-2 x a week.

Besides beauty products wearing  jacket hoods, scarves and shalls when you’re outside work wonders as well! Feel the difference and start protecting your hair and skin against the harsh weather!
