Go Obama! On Monday, Barack Obama our President plans to sign a bill to both help end child hunger and battle childhood obesity. This is a long overdue bill that should be addressed. The “Healthy, Hungry-free Kid’s act of 2010”is intended to improve the quality of food served at schools. This will change food in the cafeteria, a la carte and vending machines.

By taking out the unhealthy choices, both the overweight and underweight children will get the food that their growing bodies need. This nourishment will help them to feel better about themselves, and possibly help their performance at school.

In addition, this bill will make it possible for schools to serve more than 20 million after school lunches throughout our country. This will also make it easier for less fortunate children to acquire free or discounted meals at their school.
